Programs & Company Manager

OPPORTUNITY

The Programs & Company Manager reports to the Artistic & Executive Director, and plays a pivotal role in planning ongoing Movement Speaks® classes, DVP performances, workshops, teacher trainings, and other community events. The role involves managing program logistics, from managing teaching artists, guest artists, booking rehearsal space, communicating with program partners, to on-site coordination, ensuring each class or workshop runs smoothly and reflects the Artistic Director’s vision. This position includes managing budgets and multi-layered schedules, and building strong relationships with employees and partners. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with the Artistic Director to manage and supervise the teaching artist employees and company dancers, maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment within the artistic team (and within the organization as a whole)

  • Oversee the Movement Speaks class® schedule

  • Booking rehearsal space

  • Oversee the production rehearsal schedules including communication with dancers, choreographers, assistants, and rehearsal sites

  • Assist the Artistic Director in hiring of artistic employees and contractors, including Guest Artists, rehearsal assistants, teachers, and additional personnel involved in the artistic and development process.

    • Includes  assistance with artist agreements and MOUs for partnering organizations.

  • Work with our Operations Associate to oversee artistic payroll in a timely manner and invoices to community partners. 

  • Maintain annual program budgets, as created by Artistic and Executive Directors

  • Work with Artistic Director to evaluate and assess educational programs through observation and student surveys, and assist with determining areas for improvement for teachers and programs

    • Includes distribution of forms and evaluations On-Site

  • Work closely with Development team to ensure grant objectives are reached and metrics are gathered for reporting 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with Dance Education

  • Highly Organized

  • Self-motivated

  • Excellent Communications skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Spanish language fluency is a plus

Schedule & Key Requirements & Protocols:

  • The Programs & Company Manager is a hybrid, part-time, hourly position

  • 15-25 hours per week

  • Hourly rate $30/hr

  • PTO, and Sick Leave as required by the Labor Department, as well as FICA and Disability
